Interior Design
The B.S. in Interior Design is accredited by the Council for Interior Design Accreditation (CIDA, accred-id.org). As a CIDA accredited program, the degree meets the educational requirements for eligibility to sit for the National Council for Interior Design Qualification Examination (NCIDQ) administered by the Council for Interior Design Qualification (cidq.org/paths).

The Juris Doctorate (J.D.) offered through the SIU School of Law is accredited by the American Bar Association (ABA, americanbar.org). Accreditation assures that the degree satisfies the educational requirements to sit for the bar exam.

Long Term Care Administration
The School of Health Sciences offers a minor in Long Term Care Administration. After successful completion of the Bachelor's degree in Health Care Management with the Long Term Care Administration minor, graduates meet the educational requirements to be eligible to sit for the Nursing Home Administrator (NHA) exam administered by the National Association of Long Term Care Administration Boards (NAB, nabweb.org) although eligibility decisons rest with the state's licensure board when the student submits their application.

Medical Dosimetry
The Masters of Science (M.S.) in Medical Dosimetry is accredited by the Joint Review Committee on Education in Radiologic Technology (JRCERT, jrcert.org). Graduating from an accredited program meets the educational requirements necessary to sit for the licensure exam offered by the Medical Dosimetry Certification Board to become Certified Medical Dosimetrists. Occupational Therapy
The Occupational Therapy Doctorate (O.T.D.) program at Southern Illinois University Carbondale has applied for accreditation and has been granted Candidacy Status by the Accreditation Council for Occupational Therapy Education (ACOTE) of the American Occupational Therapy Association (AOTA), (ACOTE, acoteonline.org). The first cohort of students began in August 2022.
The program, having been granted candidacy status, will go through a pre-accreditation review and complete an on-site evaluation which will determine whether the program will be granted accreditation. Students who graduate from an accredited program are eligible to sit for the National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy (NBCOT, nbcot.org) Certification Examination. Certification from NBCOT is required for licensure in all states. Hence, graduating from an accredited program meets the educational requirements for taking the exam and obtaining licensure in all states, Guam, Puerto Rico, and the District of Columbia.

Physical Therapist Assistant
The A.A.S. in Physical Therapist Assistant is accredited by the Commission on Accreditation in Physical Therapy (CAPTE, capteonline.org). Therapeutic Recreation
The specialization in Therapeutic Recreation in the B.S. in Recreation Professions is not accredited. However, the coursework meets the educational requirements to sit for the certification exam administered by the National Council for Therapeutic Recreation Certification (NCRTC, nctrc.org). The certification exam is required for licensure in OK, NH, NJ, NC, and UT.
